Volunteer Engagement
Volunteer Engagement welcomes community members to support students and staff in Aurora.
Volunteer Engagement at VPE warmly welcomes families and community members to share their time and talents in supporting students, staff, and school programs. Volunteers play a vital role across the school, with numerous opportunities to get involved throughout the year. Individuals can assist in the library by shelving books and reading during story time, support teachers with classroom projects and small-group activities, help supervise students during lunch and recess, or chaperone field trips. The program also features the WATCH D.O.G.S. initiative, inviting dads, grandfathers, uncles, guardians, and positive male role models to mentor students and help organize safe, fun games during recess. Additionally, volunteers are needed to help make special events memorable, including the Book Fair, Holiday Fair, school dances, Fun Run, Field Day, and the VPE BBQ. To participate in any volunteer activities, all individuals must complete the required APS volunteer application and background check process, along with the designated Google form, to receive official approval through Aurora Public Schools.
