The Ellen Baker Tracy Guild

A Bakersfield women's volunteer guild supporting Kern County Museum projects.

The Ellen Baker Tracy Guild is a Bakersfield-based volunteer group created to support projects and programs at the Kern County Museum. Named after early pioneer Ellen M. Whalen Baker Tracy, the 50-member guild brings together local women to help fulfill the museum's goals. Members pay annual dues of $500 that directly fund an annual selected project. The guild meets twice a year, gathering at a fall luncheon to select their annual project from staff recommendations and hear reports on new initiatives, and at a spring luncheon to view the completed work. To date, the group has successfully completed seven important restoration and construction projects within the museum's Pioneer Village. Those interested in learning more about the guild, its current projects, or membership opportunities can contact Maria Ramirez via email.
