Amel Association International (Amel) was established in 1979 in Lebanon and has operated for over four decades through a network of 30 centers, 6 mobile medical units, 2 mobile education units, and 1 protection unit. The organization serves the most vulnerable regions of the country, ranging from Beirut and its Southern Suburbs to Mount Lebanon, the Bekaa Valley, and South Lebanon. Amel provides accessible services and programs covering education, medical care, psychosocial support, professional training, rural development, child protection, and human rights promotion. The group relies on the devotion of thousands of volunteers to achieve its humanitarian mission, which has both local and worldwide impact. Amel is open to everyone, including newcomers and experienced humanitarian workers, regardless of background or education. Responsibilities are fitted for both new and experienced volunteers. The volunteer experience includes personal growth, boosting self-esteem and confidence, gaining a sense of achievement by supporting communities in need, and exploring different regions of Lebanon while understanding social issues.
