The Women’s Canadian Club of Calgary
The Women’s Canadian Club of Calgary hosts monthly luncheons from September to June featuring distinguished speakers on Canadian history, national topics, and current issues. History
Founded on January 21, 1911, the Club began when Ninth Avenue was a dirt road and a hitching post stood outside the Palliser Hotel. Early members included Nellie McClung of the Famous Five, and the Club was created to give women a forum to stay informed about local and national topics.
