Criada em Porto Alegre em 1997 por Maria Elena Pereira Johannpeter, a Parceiros Voluntários estabeleceu-se em Caxias dois anos depois, motivada por um grupo de empresários. Com 25 anos de atuação, já beneficiou cerca de 40 mil pessoas e conta com 14,2 mil voluntários atuantes.
