Queen Charlotte Chorus is a women's a cappella choir in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The Queen Charlotte Chorus invites women of all ages who love to sing to join their community. Rehearsals take place every Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 9:00 pm, with a few exceptions, and are open to visitors. No formal music training is required; participants simply need to be able to carry a tune. The group performs for the public regularly and competes in a five-state region every spring as part of Sweet Adelines International, an organization where over 30,000 women worldwide have discovered the joy of a cappella singing. Members from across the Charlotte region, including educators, business professionals, medical personnel, accountants, and moms, gather weekly despite some driving over an hour. While membership is open to all, those interested in joining may choose to audition after four visits. The audition song is selected from the current repertoire, ensuring candidates already have one song under their belt. The chorus fosters a sense of sisterhood among its diverse members who share a passionate commitment to singing and performing.
