Foundation Chicago is a Mixed Martial Arts community organization and training center located in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood. The gym offers small‑group classes for adults and children that emphasize a thoughtful pedagogy, differentiated curricula, and low student‑to‑teacher ratios, creating a student‑centered and welcoming environment for learning self‑defense and physical fitness. All coaches are seasoned competitors and fighters‑turned‑teachers who are dedicated to promoting liberation and safe learning on the mats. The organization serves as a safe haven for marginalized peoples and their allies in a world that can be reactionary toward MMA. Scholarships are awarded to selected families’ children so they can train, build communication, violence‑prevention, and teamwork skills while having fun and staying active.
