The group has organized a proposed 20-Day 2025 Outerbelt Trip Itinerary, featuring daily hikes starting at 9 AM and covering approximately 220 miles across various locations including Buckingham Fountain, Big Marsh, Camp Shabbona Woods, Camp Sullivan, Camp Bullfrog Lake, Catherine Chevalier Woods, Old School Forest Preserve, Ravinia, and Aragon Ballroom. The Outerbelt primarily traverses the Forest Preserves of Cook County, which offer a mix of designated paved, graded, and primitive rustic trails. Users are advised that while the Forest Preserves work to identify and remove hazards, primitive trails may have uneven surfaces and pose heightened risks, and non-designated trails, such as deer trails, are not inspected or maintained.
