ShareWell Online Support Groups offers live video peer support sessions for residents of Chicago and the surrounding Chicagoland area, including Naperville, Evanston, Aurora, Joliet, Oak Park, Cook County, DuPage County, Lake County, The North Shore, and Northwest Indiana. Recognizing that winter, traffic, and distance often isolate neighborhoods, these groups meet online by live video to connect people from home during daytime and evening hours in Central time. Members discuss feelings of disconnection from friends across the city, low mood during early sunsets and cold weather, the departure of longtime neighbors and family, and concerns about rising housing costs. The groups are designed for those whose neighborhoods offer few local support options, anyone who stops going out once winter sets in, commuters with little time after work, and longtime residents missing their former communities. Please note that ShareWell groups are peer support services and are not crisis or emergency services.
