WCCC is a Chicago cycling club hosting inclusive recreational group rides.
WCCC is a Chicago-based cycling club that organizes weekly recreational rides open to members and non-members alike. The group typically meets Saturday mornings at the totem pole near Addison Street and the Lakefront Trail, departing around 9:00 a.m. for a moderate-paced ride of 10–14 mph south along the lakefront. Riders gather at Queen’s Landing near Buckingham Fountain before continuing to Hyde Park for a social brunch at Medici’s on 57th Street, then return to the starting point for a total loop of about 25 miles. The club emphasizes a welcoming, social atmosphere and encourages participants to bring friends; the rides are known for strong LGBTQ+ participation. Helmets are required on all rides, and cyclists should bring water, a lock, flat-repair supplies, and money for food or transit. The route stays close to CTA lines for easy return if needed. Rides are fair-weather events; the club does not cancel for rain but attendance may be lower in poor conditions. All skill levels are welcome, and any type of bicycle is suitable for the easy to moderate pace.
