For over thirty years, the West Loop Community Organization (WLCO) has operated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to Chicago's West Loop neighborhood. Recognized nationally for its walkability and vibrant business scene, the West Loop benefits from WLCO's long-standing event and community engagement programs. The organization drives economic development by coordinating public planning and cultivating connectivity through small and large-scale events held throughout the year. Donors support initiatives ranging from assisting local rescue organizations, homeless individuals, and Chicago-bound refugees to funding broader community projects. A flagship achievement of WLCO is the Taste of Randolph Street food and international music festival, which has been hosted for more than 28 years. This annual Father's Day Weekend event brings nearly 100,000 people to Restaurant Row to celebrate all things West Loop. Beyond events, WLCO acts as a connector between residents, businesses, and government entities, providing assistance with licensing and permitting needs through the Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection. The organization maintains direct lines of communication with other government offices, including the Cook County State's Attorney's Office, the Department of Planning and Development, the neighborhood 12th District Police precinct, and local ward aldermen. WLCO advocates for a safer, better West Loop and believes everyone should have a seat at the table, offering volunteer opportunities to anyone regardless of membership status.
