Choral Union
Choral Union is an audition-only choir in Fort Worth.
Choral Union is an audition-only ensemble based in Fort Worth that has toured internationally and performed at historic venues such as Tewkesbury Abbey and Gloucester Cathedral. The group released its first CD, 'Solemn Splendor,' in November 2008 under the Clarion record label and serves as the resident chamber chorus for FUMCFW, performing special concerts and services throughout the year. While the Choral Union performs a variety of musical styles ranging from George Friedrich Handel to Mark Hayes, the organization also operates a non-auditioned service choir that welcomes all who love to sing without requiring prior experience or musical training. This service choir leads the congregation in song weekly at the 11:00 Traditional service, providing anthems that proclaim the Gospel of Christ. Whether accompanied by a state-of-the-art organ, a professional orchestra, or singing a cappella, the choir offers diverse musical experiences. Rehearsals for the service choir are held every Wednesday at 7 pm in room 212, while childcare is available upon request. Additionally, the community features a dynamic handbell choir that practices every Wednesday evening at 6 pm in room 313, playing during worship services several times per year and participating in local festivals and workshops, with a preference for those with bell ringing experience.
