Die Kirche wurde um 1200 erbaut und nach einem Stadtbrand 1799 im klassizistischen Stil neu errichtet. Sie besitzt eine bedeutende Orgel von Johann Gottlob Trampeli aus dem Jahr 1807. Die älteste Glocke stammt von 1515.
