St. Cyriakus in Geseke was founded in the mid-10th century by the Geseker women's community of the Saxon Grafen family of Haholde. The church served as a spiritual center for the women of the Stiftsfreiheit and was later recognized by King Otto I. The church has undergone several renovations and renovations over the centuries, with a major renovation completed in 2023-2024 and a formal consecration in December 2024.
