The Jiahemay Senior Association in Hami offers cultural activities and support for seniors.
The Jiahemay Senior Association was established on December 14, 2018, and is officially approved and registered as a non-profit society organization by the Government of Ontario. Supported by the Canadian government and the community center, the association has successfully organized various literature, art, sports activities, and training courses to activate the spiritual and cultural life of the elderly, making them more healthy and energetic. Current activities include musical instrument teams, chorus, square dance, Tai Chi, Kung Fu, fan dancing, line dance, table tennis, chess, and cards. The association also actively conducts online courses tailored to the characteristics of the elderly, regularly holding dietary health and travel safety precautions sessions. Additionally, the association actively participates in artistic performances under government advocacy and holds large parties during major festivals. The association's events are held at the Mississauga Valley Community Center (1275 Mississauga Vly Blvd, Mississauga, ON L5A 3R8) and the Erindale Community Hall (1620 Dundas Street West, Mississauga, ON L5C 1E6). Contact information is available for President Qiquan Zhang and Vice President Haimeng Luk. A weekly yoga Zoom online course is scheduled for evenings from 7:30 PM to 8:45 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
