Support vulnerable children through volunteering in Jaipur shelter homes.

The Childcare Volunteer Programme Jaipur invites international volunteers aged 18 and over to support vulnerable children at local shelter homes in Jaipur, India. Operating year-round with weekly Sunday starts, the programme places participants in a boys' shelter for children rescued from child labor or a shelter for girls affected by HIV. Volunteers assist local care-takers and staff by helping middle-school children with homework and afterschool activities, teaching basic English and arts and crafts, and leading seminars on hygiene, kindness, and other social topics. No previous experience is required, though participants need an intermediate level of English, a clean criminal background check, and a flexible, open-minded attitude. Placements run from one to twelve weeks, with volunteer work scheduled five days a week and weekends free to explore Jaipur or take excursions to destinations like the Taj Mahal, Pushkar, and Delhi. Participants stay in a volunteer house in north Jaipur or with a local host family, with airport transfers, orientation, local support, and three daily meals included.
