UNICEF South Africa Volunteer Club - University of the Witwatersrand (WITS)
The UNICEF South Africa Volunteer Club at the University of the Witwatersrand (WITS) is a youth-driven initiative empowering students to champion children’s rights and drive social change in Johannesburg and beyond. As part of one of South Africa’s largest youth-led volunteer movements, this grassroots programme engages young people in education, violence prevention, climate action, and healthy lifestyles to create lasting impact. Through advocacy, awareness campaigns, community engagement, and fundraising, volunteers work to protect and promote the rights of every child. Members participate in hands-on initiatives such as nutrition education, environmental stewardship, mental health workshops, and campaigns against gender-based violence. The club offers leadership development, mentorship, and networking opportunities while aligning efforts with global goals like Generation Unlimited. Whether you’re a student or a young leader, joining means becoming part of a movement dedicated to building a better future for children in South Africa.
