Kalyani Youth Leadership Forum
Kalyani Youth Leadership Forum: Globsyn students volunteering for social causes in Kalyani, West Bengal.
Kalyani Youth Leadership Forum (KYLF) is a youth volunteer brigade formed by Bikram Dasgupta with students of Globsyn Business School as part of their management curriculum. Recognized by AICTE as a best practice, KYLF has touched over 85,000 lives through initiatives such as Beyond Education, care for the elderly in old age homes, support for Cyclone Amphan victims, ration distribution to migrant workers during lockdowns, and inclusion programs for differently-abled children and adults. The forum celebrates Joy of Giving months across West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Assam, distributing clothes, masks, food rations, and daily necessities. Volunteers regularly visit the 100-year-old Tollygunge Home to celebrate birthdays with residents through games, songs, and meals. In partnership with NGOs Care Giver Trust and Bodhayan, KYLF organizes vocational workshops — candle making, envelope making, paper bag making, and handloom — alongside yoga sessions to build skills and self-reliance for differently-abled individuals. The group also runs Feed the Poor, having supported over 1,000 marginalized families during the COVID-19 pandemic and aided cyclone Amphan recovery by reconstructing homes and providing rations.
