Helping Hand Organisation
Helping Hand Organisation in Kozhikode helps the underprivileged through volunteer-driven charitable work.
Helping Hand Organisation (HHO) is a volunteer-based group in Kozhikode, Kerala, founded on November 1, 2013, with the mission of extending support to the underprivileged regardless of caste, religion, or politics. Since its inception, HHO has undertaken a wide range of charitable activities across the region. These include distributing Onam kits to financially weaker families in Kozhikode and to Adivasi communities in Wayanad, providing financial assistance to shelters such as Free Birds Open Shelter for Boys, and donating essential equipment like washing machines, wheelchairs, and a sound system to institutions including a boys' home, Athani Palliative Care, Beach Hospital, and Homeopathy College. The organisation also supports education by supplying uniforms to schoolchildren, distributing tablets for online learning, and offering incentives to poor students. HHO collaborates with groups like Donate for Life and NSS Technical Cell to organise blood donation camps, and has contributed to flood relief and charity food programmes. Regular general body meetings guide its operations, and the group has marked occasions such as the 'Sparsham 2017' New Year celebration and the release of a documentary on mental health of survivors. Through these varied efforts, HHO continues to address immediate needs and promote welfare in the community.
