Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, a Jesuit parish in Maliapota, Krishnanagar, West Bengal.

Immaculate Heart of Mary Church is a Jesuit parish located in the village of Maliapota, within the Krishnanagar area of Nadia district, West Bengal. The newly renovated church and presbytery were blessed and inaugurated with a Eucharistic celebration presided over by Bishop Nirmal Vincent Gomes on October 30, 2025, attended by five priests, about twenty religious sisters, and over two hundred parishioners. The Jesuit presence in the Krishnagar Diocese began at the invitation of the diocesan bishop and operates alongside the Salesians of Don Bosco, who predominantly manage the diocese. The parish is responsible for the pastoral care of the Maliapota sub‑centres at Bethberia and Phulbari, under the guidance of Fr. Cyriac Sebastian. The Jesuit leadership team supporting the mission includes Fr. John Doe as Provincial, Fr. Alex Kumar as Socius, Fr. Michael Raj as Administrator, Fr. P. Joseph as Coordinator, and Fr. Antony as Treasurer. Together they serve the faithful through faith formation, education, justice initiatives, and community building in the region.
