History
Founded in March 1954 as a charitable, non-profit organization, the American Women’s Club of Madrid began with thirty-five American women meeting at the Hilton Hotel on Paseo de la Castellana. The club later purchased its own clubhouse at Plaza de la República del Ecuador in 1966, which has served as the heart of the club ever since. Over the decades, members have supported numerous charitable organizations focused on women and children.
