Mixed Ensemble is a premier SSAATTBB choir in New York City specializing in new works.

The Mixed Ensemble is one of New York City's premier SSAATTBB ensembles, distinguished by its versatility in chamber and symphonic choral music and a specific specialization in new works by young composers. The group comprises highly skilled musicians with diverse backgrounds, including professional musicians, music teachers, artists, and accomplished professionals from legal, finance, and tech fields, all united by a deep love of choral music. Highlights from past years include performances by composers such as Darita Seth, Matthew Lyon Hazzard, Alex Berko, Melissa Dunphy, Rachel DeVore Fogarty, Jeffrey Derus, and a commission by Rex Isenberg titled "Love Texts," in which the text was written by the ensemble members themselves. The choir has earned the honor of performing at the American Choral Directors' Association (ACDA) Eastern Region Conference in Providence, RI, an achievement shared with just over a dozen other choirs from the Northeastern US, and was the sole choir from New York State invited to this event. In addition to the Mixed Ensemble, the organization includes the Treble Ensemble, founded in 2012 and now one of the leading SSAA choirs in the city. Originally named the Women's Ensemble, it changed its name in Spring 2021 to be more inclusive to treble singers of all gender identities. The Treble Ensemble is deeply committed to the cultivation and performance of new works for adult treble voices and has performed at the Connecticut American Choral Directors Association Fall Conference and the first ever NYC Treble Festival.
