Staten Island Friendship Clubs provides meals and social activities for seniors across New York City.
Staten Island Friendship Clubs offers a welcoming environment for older adults to socialize and maintain mental sharpness through daily meals and community engagement. Centers operate Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, featuring breakfast at 8:30 am and lunch at 12:00 pm, with fresh meals prepared on-site and grab-and-go options available. The organization provides door-to-door transportation to support member access. These facilities, including Great Kills, Todt Hill, Arrochar, Mount Loretto, and New Dorp Beach centers, were established following the advocacy of Anne B. McGarvey, who worked for 24 years to open nutritious meal and recreational programs throughout the borough. The clubs welcome all members equally regardless of race, creed, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, language, marital status, sexual orientation, or citizenship status. Members frequently report that the centers help keep them young and provide something to look forward to every day. The organization encourages members to connect on Facebook at /SIFriendshipclubs.
