Volunteers in Plano (VIP) Teens
Volunteers in Plano Teens engages student volunteers in Plano community programs.
The Volunteers in Plano (VIP) Teen Program engages 400 student volunteers to support Plano Parks and Recreation programs, Plano Public Library services, and special events. Designed for students between the ages of 13 and 18, the program offers opportunities where teens can contribute their time and skills, though specific age requirements vary based on the opportunity or program. Due to high popularity, the program maintains a significant waiting list for prospective participants, and all roster spots are currently full. Interested students can create an account by completing the teen application, which automatically adds them to the waiting list. Openings and application windows are managed by VIP Staff based on application dates and areas of interest. In addition to the main VIP Teens initiative, related options include Adapted Recreation Programs, Fire and Law Enforcement Explorers Programs, Live Green in Plano, Plano Teen Court, and the Teen Street Team through Plano Public Library. The program does not offer same-day volunteering, and most options involve waiting lists rather than quick service hours.
