History
Originally named Monument City Music, the organization changed its name in September 2019 to Richmond Allied Voices to distance itself from monuments glorifying slaveholders. During the pandemic, the three separate groups were combined into one collective, but as of January 2022, they returned to operating as distinct treble, low voice, and mixed voice groups.
