San Diego County Library Volunteer Program in San Diego offers adult and teen service learning opportunities.

The San Diego County Library Volunteer Program invites adults and teens to join a rewarding community service initiative across all county locations. Adult volunteers receive orientation and training tailored to their interests and talents, though a background check, potential medical exam, and possibly Live Scan fingerprinting are required before starting. Teens aged 12 to 17 can participate in the Teen Service Learning Program to earn community service hours and gain real work experience by organizing library materials and attending fun events. Hours are flexible, available on weekdays and Saturdays, and sign-ups can be arranged by contacting a staff member at any local branch. While specific schedules and age ranges vary by location, the program emphasizes heartfelt appreciation for commitment and provides a supportive environment for both adults and teenagers to contribute meaningfully to the library experience. For detailed information regarding requirements, specific duties, and how to register, please contact your nearest San Diego County Library branch directly.
