Rugna Seva Prakalp is a registered social organization established in 1991 in Miraj, District Sangli, Maharashtra, dedicated to the health, environment, and empowerment of the community. With over three decades of experience, the trust has responded to various calamities including earthquakes, floods, and the pandemic, and maintains active compliance with all government registrations. The group is currently developing a comprehensive care center for the aged, an integrated facility combining an old age home and hospice care services. This project addresses the growing need for geriatric support in urban areas where nuclear families and migration have left many senior citizens isolated and lacking adequate physical or economic assistance. The proposed multi-story facility, located near the Government Medical College and Civil Hospital, will offer counseling, day care, short-stay, and long-stay residential options alongside medical care, gym, yoga, and dining services. In its initial phase, the center will accommodate approximately 35 to 40 individuals, providing a safe environment for both ambulatory and non-ambulatory seniors. The organization aims to deliver holistic health-centered socio-economic development, ensuring that retired citizens receive the necessary medical, emotional, and social support under one roof.
