HELPING HANDS SANTA ANA
Volunteering group in Santa Ana supporting local at-risk youth and families.
Founded in November 2012 by a group of friends who grew up in Santa Ana and attended Saddleback High School, Helping Hands Santa Ana was created to give back to the community and enrich the futures of others. Driven by the memory of mentors, coaches, and relatives who offered guidance and support, the organization fundraises throughout the year to organize an Easter BBQ, a Back to School Tennis Shoes Project, a Thanksgiving Food Drive, and a Christmas Toy Drive. Helping Hands works to assist at-risk youth and their families who attend the after-school program at the Santa Ana Police Athletic & Activity League. By providing food and toy drives, community events, and school supplies, the group strives to offset financial burdens for families in this high-risk and low-income area of Santa Ana. Since its inception, the organization has partnered with the Santa Ana Police Athletic and Activities League to help local children participate in activities they might otherwise miss due to financial hardships, with a continued commitment to expanding their outreach and making a meaningful difference in the community.
