Awakening Foundation is a women's rights organization in Taipei. (68 characters)
The Awakening Foundation was established in 1987, originally founded as the Awakening of Women magazine agency in 1982 by Ms. Yuan-Cheng Li. This organization emerged during the enforcement of martial law in Taiwan, playing a pivotal role in raising women's awareness of their status in society and focusing on gender issues when few others were addressing them. Since the lifting of martial law in 1987, diverse women's organizations have emerged in Taipei, each focusing on specific topics such as women's mental health, women's rights, support for women with broken homes, female workers' rights, women's studies, and rescue and support systems. The Awakening Foundation, along with other non-governmental groups, aims to help women deal with the tasks they face in contemporary society by providing professional assistance and participating in political and social movements to urge the modification of laws and supervise government policy. These organizations collectively form a powerful resource network for women in Taiwan, dedicated to improving women's status and gaining recognition and support from friends of feminism worldwide.
