Organic Farm Volunteer Project near Udaipur
Organic farm volunteer project in the Aravali Hills near Udaipur, Rajasthan, India.
The Organic Farm Volunteer Project is a community-driven initiative located in the peaceful Aravali Hills, approximately 20 kilometers from the historic city of Udaipur in Rajasthan, India. Started in May 2020 during the lockdown, the project aims to cultivate organic crops, build sustainable structures, and foster a community of like-minded individuals passionate about permaculture, nature, and environmental stewardship. Volunteers are invited to assist with diverse tasks including gardening, construction, painting, manual labor, photography, and animal care. The farm offers a unique opportunity to experience authentic village life, interact with local families, learn traditional farming and building techniques, and participate in farm-to-table meals. Accommodation is basic and shared, emphasizing simplicity and connection. The location is rustic and physically demanding due to outdoor work in the mountains, requiring good physical fitness and preparation for varied weather conditions across seasons. While the area is remote and untouched by mass tourism, volunteers can explore nearby Udaipur to visit ancient temples, lakes, and cultural sites. The project seeks to create a supportive environment where hard work, creativity, and mutual respect lead to lifelong friendships and personal growth.
