History
Established in the summer of 1917, the Vallejo Choral Society is one of the oldest musical organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area and the oldest community-based non-professional choir in California. The group has faced interruptions during WW I, the Great Depression, and World War II but has consistently grown, reaching up to 100 singers in the 1950s-1970s. It regularly performs in Vallejo's Independence Day Parades and collaborates with local symphony orchestras and other choral societies across Solano, Alameda, and Napa Counties.
