AAWL Volunteer Program in Chandler: volunteer roles in animal care, shelter support, community outreach.

The AAWL Volunteer Program in Chandler welcomes anyone 18 or older to support animals and the community through a variety of roles, with no experience or special skills required. Volunteers can walk dogs, socialize cats, assist with shelter cleaning and laundry, help at mobile and onsite veterinary clinics, support the Chandler Mall retail location, or contribute skills such as photography, event assistance, and administrative work. A one-time $15 onboarding fee covers insurance and initial volunteer gear, though financial barriers can be discussed with the volunteer team. Court-ordered community service is not accommodated. To stay active, volunteers are encouraged to contribute at least 15 hours per quarter, though weekly shifts are not mandatory. The onboarding process includes an application, online orientation, payment of the fee, and a buddy day with an experienced volunteer. Participants often find meaningful connections, a sense of purpose, and a supportive community of fellow volunteers. For questions, contact [email protected].
