Hyde Park Jazz Society

Hyde Park Jazz Society runs the annual Hyde Park Jazz Festival in Chicago's Hyde Park.

Founded in 2006 through a collaboration of Hyde Park cultural leaders, the Hyde Park Jazz Society was established to create an annual celebration of jazz that would draw new audiences to the neighborhood's arts venues and honor the music's rich legacy on Chicago's South Side. With support from the University of Chicago's Office of Civic Engagement, the society produces the Hyde Park Jazz Festival, a multi-venue event hosted by International House that showcases more than 40 performances by local, national, and international jazz artists each year. The festival is presented in partnership with the Global Voices Performing Arts Series and remains free and open to the public, reflecting the society's commitment to accessible cultural programming. Through this annual festival, the Hyde Park Jazz Society continues to foster community engagement and highlight the vibrant jazz scene that thrives in Hyde Park.
