Participatory Music Coalition

Participatory Music Coalition is a Chicago-based music organization co-founded by Adam Zanolini.

The Participatory Music Coalition is a Chicago-based music organization co-founded by Adam Zanolini, a multi-instrumentalist, ethnomusicologist, writer, and arts organizer who serves as Executive Director of Elastic Arts Foundation and is active in the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians. The coalition appeared in the 2023 Artist Corps Fellowship program schedule with a performance curated by Zanolini, part of a series that provides financial support to Chicago musician fellows to produce free concerts in neighborhoods across the South and West Sides. Zanolini's stated ambition to cultivate and share knowledge through music to help heal, strengthen, and empower the Black community reflects the coalition's community-oriented approach. Through its involvement in the Artist Corps initiative, the Participatory Music Coalition contributes to bringing rich, engaging artistic experiences to people where they live, particularly in communities without equitable access to cultural programming.
