Little House is an experimental cinema in Pilsen, Chicago, offering intimate 16mm screenings.
Little House is a private residence in Pilsen, Chicago, that operates as an experimental cinema. Founded and run by Michael Wawzenek, who serves as the sole employee and director, the group began a year and a half ago with a small circle of friends. The venue is located at 1851 S. Allport St. and functions out of a room in the back of Wawzenek's house. The space is designed for intimacy, comfortably holding only fifteen people at a time. Screenings primarily feature 16mm films, including past series on topics such as police brutality and works by an arts collective from Mexico City called Vico. While Little House maintains a low profile online with minimal web presence, it actively collaborates with other local groups like filmfront to host larger screenings. The organization invites film enthusiasts from both Pilsen and Bridgeport to experience its curated selections in a unique, home-based setting.
