Deepam Coimbatore volunteers mentor children at four centers in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

Deepam Coimbatore is a volunteer-driven initiative that provides mentoring and educational support to children in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. As part of the larger Deepam network, which reaches approximately 600 children across 12 centers in Tamil Nadu, the Coimbatore chapter operates four centers and has been active since 2018. Volunteers engage with children through weekend classes, offering guidance and interaction aimed at making a positive difference in their lives. Prospective volunteers are encouraged to visit a center during a class session for trial visits to experience the program firsthand. Deepam conducts regular induction programs to welcome new volunteers, explaining the organization’s teaching and mentoring approach as well as volunteer roles and responsibilities. The organization also welcomes individuals from other areas in Tamil Nadu who wish to help establish new centers. Interested volunteers can register through an online sign-up form, and the team follows up to coordinate involvement. Deepam’s work relies entirely on the commitment of volunteers who wish to contribute their time and energy to support children’s development.
