Sparkling City Chorus

Sparkling City Chorus: a Corpus Christi barbershop choir for women of all ages.

Sparkling City Chorus is the Corpus Christi chapter of Sweet Adelines International, a national organization of women who sing barbershop a cappella. The chorus welcomes singers of every vocal range—low, high, middle, or any part in between—so that anyone with a voice can join the 4‑part harmony. Rehearsals begin on November 7, 2023 and are held Tuesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the music room at Parkway Presbyterian Church, 3707 Santa Fe, Corpus Christi. Members learn and practice the techniques that make barbershop singing sound its best while enjoying the camaraderie that comes from performing together. The group’s 2019 Region 10 competition photo shows the ensemble in action, and the chorus continues to grow as a welcoming community for women of all ages and backgrounds who love to harmonize. The chorus meets in a supportive environment where members share tips on breath control, diction, and chord placement. Through regular performances, they showcase the rich tradition of barbershop while fostering lifelong friendships among participants. Contact Barbara Behr for more information.
