Promoting traditional artisans and craft skills in Delhi.

Delhi Crafts Council is a registered, voluntary non-profit organization based in Delhi that works for the promotion and development of traditional artisans and craft skills in a contemporary environment. With sustainable livelihoods as its first priority, the Council supports the craft sector through marketing, design, the identification of young talent, and sensitive interventions to revive languishing crafts. It showcases traditional and contemporary crafts and textiles from across the country through KAMALA and organizes workshops and demonstrations for school children to familiarize them with artisans and the craft-making process. The organization also presents annual awards and honors, including the Sutrakar Samman for weavers and the Vastra Shilpi Samman for unseen textile artisans, alongside awards encouraging skilled youth to continue their craft traditions. Founded by the late Smt Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay, the Delhi Crafts Council remains deeply committed to her ideals in service of India's crafts community.
