Durham Habitat Restore Volunteers offers non-construction volunteer roles at the ReStore and office.

Durham Habitat Restore Volunteers coordinates non‑construction volunteer opportunities for Habitat for Humanity in Durham. The program includes office support roles for individuals with strong interpersonal and computer skills who can commit to a regular weekday schedule; interested volunteers should email the Volunteer Manager for details. At the Habitat ReStore, volunteers assist with donation processing such as accepting, sorting, cleaning, testing, and pricing items, provide customer service at the register, handle office administration tasks like answering phones and data entry, and perform general maintenance. To join the ReStore team, volunteers must sign up for an orientation session on the ReStore website, and questions can be directed to [email protected] or by calling (919) 403‑8668. Additionally, the site hospitality option allows volunteers to welcome construction crews with purchased or homemade treats or meals, and those interested should contact the Volunteer Manager. All roles are designed for those who want to support Habitat’s mission without working on construction sites.
