People Helping the Community in LA offers flexible volunteer events throughout Los Angeles.

People Helping the Community in LA is a volunteer group based in Los Angeles that connects members with a variety of community service opportunities posted by the organizer. The group was originally started by Derrick and later taken over by the current organizer, Wiseman, who resumed posting events to maintain the mission of helping those in need. Volunteers can choose from flexible events that fit their schedule, availability, and geographic area, including activities such as feeding the homeless, visiting senior centers, reading to children, and working with Habitat for Humanity. The group collaborates with other organizations across Los Angeles and also operates alongside two sister groups: Volunteer in LA and SoCal Volunteers United in OC. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the group notes that gathering in large groups is not recommended but some events are posted for those comfortable participating with safety precautions. Examples of past volunteering can be seen on the group's Instagram and Facebook pages. The organizer also advises members to adjust Meetup email settings to reduce automatic reminder emails.
