Milwaukee Choristers is a community choir in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, formed in 1933.
The Milwaukee Choristers was established in 1933 by alumni of the Riverside High School's A Cappella Choir, creating a unique bond with high school singing groups. This affinity is highlighted through their annual 'Back To Our Roots' segments, where local high school choirs are invited to perform on the Choristers' concert programs. These events conclude with high school singers joining the Choristers on stage to deliver a choral benediction, serving as a demonstration that choral music extends well beyond high school and encouraging future auditions. High school choir directors interested in facilitating this opportunity for their young singers are invited to contact the organization via email at [email protected] or by mail to the P.O. Box in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Over the years, numerous high school groups have participated in these collaborative performances, including the Milwaukee High School of the Arts, Riverside University High School, Pius XI High School Concert Choir, Shorewood High School Concert Choir, and others from across the region. The Choristers continue to foster these intergenerational musical connections, celebrating the legacy of school singing while supporting the growth of current high school ensembles.
