GreenBridge Community Garden Alliance in New York promotes urban greening through education and partnerships.

The GreenBridge Community Garden Alliance is a vibrant network of grassroots gardeners operating as part of the community environmental horticulture program of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden in New York. This group is dedicated to making Brooklyn a greener place by fostering education, conservation, and creative partnerships with block associations, community gardens, and other service organizations. Members of the Alliance actively attend and lead workshops focused on sustainable horticulture, enjoy seasonal gatherings, and participate in plant giveaways hosted by the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Additionally, Alliance members receive annual site visits to their community gardens to support ongoing maintenance and growth. The broader GreenBridge initiative supports various programs including the Greenest Block in Brooklyn Contest, which encourages borough-wide beautification efforts, and the Brooklyn Urban Gardener Certificate Program, a ten-week course covering urban gardening basics. The group also empowers individuals through the Street Tree Stewards Initiative, providing training, tools, and permits for caring for street trees, and hosts the annual Making Brooklyn Bloom event to kick off the spring gardening season with exhibits, workshops, and networking opportunities focused on sustainability.
