Rescue Alliance in New York connects volunteers to local organizations ending homelessness and supporting community needs.

Rescue Alliance is a volunteer coordination group based in New York City, specifically serving the Washington Heights and Inwood neighborhoods. We work to bridge the gap between individuals seeking to give back and numerous local organizations that rely on extra hands to expand their impact. Our mission is to facilitate meaningful volunteer opportunities that strengthen communities and make a real difference in people's lives. We connect volunteers with a wide variety of causes, including food distribution through organizations like NYC Love Kitchen and La Puerta Estrecha Food Pantry, efforts to end homelessness via the Bowery Mission, City Relief, and Operation Exodus, and educational programs for youth through the Ali Forney Center and Operation Exodus. Beyond social services, we also link volunteers to environmental stewardship with the New York Restoration Project and Riverside Park Conservancy, as well as cultural and historical preservation at the Morris-Jumel Mansion. Whether your skills are in tutoring, gardening, grant review, or general service, Rescue Alliance provides a curated list of current opportunities across the five boroughs and New Jersey. Please note that all volunteer positions require registration through the respective organization's website. For any questions regarding these opportunities, please contact [email protected].
