The Metropolitan Hand Bell Choir in Newark offers children and adults music lessons.

As part of the Music Ministry of Metropolitan Baptist Church in Newark, The Metropolitan Hand Bell Choir is open to children and adults ranging from ages eight to eighty-eight. Participants learn how to play songs one note at a time, performing traditional Christian music, hymns, and arrangements created specifically for the choir. This group operates within a supportive church community that provides uplifting praise and musical opportunities across various choirs and ensembles, ranging from youth and teen groups to adult ensembles. The wider music ministry also offers instruction in the arts, including beginner and advanced adult piano lessons taught by faculty members in a safe, Christian environment. Individuals interested in participating can join the hand bell choir to engage in musical worship and learn hand bell ringing techniques suitable for multiple generations of ringers.
