Wat Prayong International Meditation Center
Wat Prayong International Meditation Center offers vipassana retreats and accommodation in Nong Chok, Bangkok.
Wat Prayong International Meditation Center is a serene retreat located in Nong Chok District, on the outskirts of Bangkok, surrounded by rice fields. The center welcomes newcomers to participate in its vipassana meditation program, offering accommodation in separate rooms, huts, or a hall for men and women. Meals include 7:30 a.m. breakfast and 11 a.m. buffet-style lunch featuring vegetarian and non-vegetarian Thai, European dishes, desserts, and fruits. While there is no dinner, juice, milk, soymilk, and plain yoghurts are permitted in the afternoon. The center operates on eight Buddhist precepts to aid mindfulness and concentration, and retreats are free of charge, though donations of approximately 300 Thai baht per day are recommended to cover maintenance, utilities, and food costs. Accommodation includes pillows, blankets, and mats, though guests may bring their own bedding. The center is situated at 22 Moo 4 Prachasamran Road, Klong 12, Nong Chok, 10530 Bangkok, and visitors are advised to arrive before 4:00 p.m., as no new participants are accepted after 6:00 p.m. Due to the prevalence of non-English speakers, directions provided are in Thai.
