Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie, Niagara and the Southern Tier creates one-to-one youth mentoring relationships in Buffalo.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie, Niagara and the Southern Tier is a mentoring organization serving youth across Western New York. Its mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of young people. The program pairs adult volunteers, known as Big Brothers or Big Sisters, with children who benefit from consistent, positive role models. Through regular meetings and shared activities, mentors help build confidence, encourage academic success, and foster social-emotional growth. The organization operates in Erie and Niagara counties as well as the Southern Tier region, connecting volunteers with local youth in need of guidance and friendship. Volunteers commit to spending quality time with their matched child, offering support, encouragement, and a stable presence. The agency provides training and ongoing support to ensure successful matches. By becoming a Big Brother or Big Sister, community members can make a lasting difference in a young person’s life while strengthening the fabric of the Buffalo area. The program welcomes individuals who want to invest in the future of local youth through meaningful, personal connections.
