KINO CAIRO, a film club in Cairo, focuses on creating and discussing inspired cinema.

KINO CAIRO is a filmmaking collective dedicated to watching, discussing, and creating inspired cinema. The group aims to build a framework for an alternative filmmaking culture and support the next generation of independent Egyptian filmmakers. Founded as a film club in Cairo, KINO CAIRO organizes curated screenings across the city. The initiative began in April 2022 with a series titled 'A Generation of Egyptian Cinema from 1988-2010,' featuring five Egyptian films and discussions with directors. Past series include 'Cinema & the City,' 'Daring Debuts,' 'Days of Running Wild: An Evening of Shorts,' and 'Summer of Sophomores.' Through its activities, KINO CAIRO continues to foster a unique filmmaking community and promote emerging talent in Egypt.
