Chicago faith group coordinating seasonal prayer and community action for shalom.

Chicagoland United in Prayer is a collective effort formed in 2017 to foster collaboration among churches and faith-based organizations through seasonal rhythms of united prayer and collective action. Rooted in the biblical message of shalom, the group believes that while prayer is essential, it must be complemented by God-inspired action to bring holistic change to Chicagoland. The organization supports place-based individuals and organizations through training and connection, aiming to nurture the thriving of their communities. A key annual event is the city-wide united prayer gathering held over Memorial Day Weekend, where churches, organizations, and individuals rally to host prayer and positive community presence across Chicago. The group also focuses on investing in the next generation through initiatives like Prayer Champions, who lead weekly prayer at local schools, and the Faith & Service Initiative, which nurtures the Christian faith of young adults aged 13 to 29 through relational discipleship and meaningful acts of service. Monthly prayer and updates meetings are held at various locations throughout the city, including Park Community Church and Progressive Baptist Church, inviting residents to join in this collaborative effort to practice and grow in unity.
