Hilliard Community Chorus is a non-auditioned choir in Columbus for high schoolers and older.
The Hilliard Community Chorus is a non-auditioned ensemble open to singers aged high school and older, led by music teacher Logan W. Fletcher. Rehearsing weekly at Hilliard Presbyterian Church on Sunday afternoons and evenings, the group performs three full-length concerts annually, including the nearly 50-year tradition of Handel's Messiah. Residents of Hilliard are not required to join; any singer who loves to sing is welcome. The Hilliard Youth Chorus, directed by Meredith Kennedy and Samantha Sayar, serves children in grades 1-8 with unchanged voices, offering a seasonal participation fee of $50 to support directors, accompanists, and sheet music. Youth rehearsals occur weekly at the Hilliard Civic and Cultural Arts Center on Wednesday afternoons, divided into sessions for younger singers (grades 1-3) and older singers (grades 4-8). The Youth Chorus aims to help children develop technique, explore new musical styles, and find their voices through music, with no prior experience necessary. Both groups welcome new members and friends to join in celebrating community music-making.
