Disabled Staff Network Edinburgh supports staff with disabilities and caring responsibilities.

The Disabled Staff Network in Edinburgh provides a safe, confidential space for staff with disabilities, restrictive health conditions, and caring responsibilities to share experiences, information, and support. Our purpose is to gather and share best practice, knowledge, and ideas on disability issues to benefit operational, research, and academic work. We aim to inform the University's approach to creating an inclusive culture and help develop effective solutions by working alongside the University. Additionally, we strive to raise the profile of disabled staff and disability both within the University and beyond. We welcome all staff members who consider themselves disabled regardless of a specific diagnosis, as well as those with caring responsibilities. Our definition covers a wide range of physical, mental, and sensory impairments, including neurodivergence, deafness, long-term health conditions, and fluctuating conditions. We will never ask you to share your disability or make assumptions about your condition, as we appreciate that not all disabilities are visible or permanent. All (potential) members are welcome to attend our scheduled meetings. For more information, to join the network via Teams, or to attend events, please contact us at [email protected].
